WORKERS Lot 806XX, T-back, 13.7 oz, Black Raw Denim

This is the first type, this time in a so-called "T-back" style, one size only. It's raw denim, unshrunk/without anti-twist treatment, so the product will be shipped in an over-washed, shrunk state. To make a large-sized denim jacket with narrow selvedge denim, it has a split in the back. The black is 7 count for both warp and weft. EMOT (Eastern Memphis Orleans Texas), 100% American cotton, medium-staple cotton, is used in WORKERS' original uneven yarn "WKS-MEM7". The black warp threads are dyed all the way to the core, so the color fades to a grayish tone overall. When creating our original denim, we wanted to know what kind of cotton was used for the old L size. So, we asked a Japanese cotton import company to let us visit grain majors, farms, and cotton sorting facilities in Memphis. The most helpful person was a veteran employee of a grain major. "What kind of cotton was used for spinning denim fabrics like Cone Mills in the past?" The answer was simply "American cotton blends". In the past, American-grown cotton was cheaper to obtain than imported from overseas. Furthermore, the reason for using a "blend" was for quality stability. Fiber length, cotton color, and the amount of cotton husk remaining. To ensure that these were as consistent as possible year after year, a blend was the most stable option. Specifying a particular field or type of cotton would be useless if a drought, flood, or pest infestation prevented a harvest. That's why they used "American EMOT blended cotton." WORKERS also uses EMOT cotton, and the uneven yarn texture was replicated by taking apart old clothing. That's what WKS-MEM7 is. At the time, no yarn manufacturer produced "American cotton EMOT 100, No. 7 yarn" as their original product. Initially, when we were able to produce enough yarn for over 1000 skeins of jeans at once, we were half excited and half apprehensive about whether we could really produce and sell that much.
