We have received a new shipment of the Open Collar Shirt Madras from WORKERS.
The material is Madras, which is made with thick yarn of about 20 count and has a loose weave.
For the past few years, I've been continuously making Open Collar Shirts. Originally, the inspiration came from brands like Pilgrim and vintage short-sleeved shirts. The loop collar and small collar were key features. This year, while still using the Open Collar design, I've changed the motif to Mr RL, known for their "pony" logo. The top is not a loop collar but a collar that opens horizontally. I've adjusted the neck circumference so that you can button it all the way up and wear it with the collar neatly closed. When you close the collar... the black one looks like an 80s Homme shirt. The placket is folded over, so the stitching and seams are not visible. This was a common feature in the past, whether it was RL or Homme. I used to think it was "too ordinary," and in my younger days, I would roar, "This is cooler!" when I saw the multi-stitched plackets of work shirts or the extremely fine stitching on Brooks Brothers button-down shirts. But once that phase settled down, those shirts with no stitching on the placket that I saw in the past now look fresh. How people change, from left to right! But I think that "fluctuation" is what makes fashion so enjoyable. The materials are broadcloth and Madras, both around 3 ounces. These are among the thinnest fabrics for shirts. Although they weigh about the same, broadcloth is densely woven with fine threads, while Madras is loosely woven with thicker threads. If you're a clothing enthusiast, you can probably imagine the feel just from this description. The linen-cotton is a little over 6 ounces. Until last year, I was using 100% linen, but this year the price has risen too much due to exchange rate fluctuations. I was in a bind when the fabric supplier came up with this fabric, saying, "We tried replacing the weft threads with cotton." It was done to cut costs, but the result is a fabric that's a little sturdier than 100% linen, which is good in its own way! I'm impressed that necessity is the mother of invention.

The product is delivered unwashed, and after washing, it will shrink by approximately 1-2 cm in each part.
