Regular Collar Shirt Shalt SV Made with Ultra-Strong Twist Wool Boil
Using 72-count fine-grain wool yarn with nearly twice the twist of what is commonly called high-twist yarn, we use 'ultra-strong twist yarn' and are woven by boiling, employing a special summer wool fabric that combines crispness and drape.
The word 'boil' comes from the veil worn by brides, and as the name suggests, it is characterized by its soft, light-transmitting transparency. Compared to typical thin wool fabrics, it offers better breathability and moisture absorption and dispersion, and the material reduces stickiness and stuffiness caused by sweat and moisture, making it comfortable to wear even in midsummer.
It also supports home washing; although labeled hand wash, you can also wash it in a laundry net using the delicate mode of the washing machine.
It incorporates distinctive details such as gathered under-yoke and cuffs that emphasize the fabric's softness and drape, a half-winged cut that hides only two buttons from the bottom, and a square-cut hem with a slit extended only 3 cm at the back, resulting in a simple regular collar shirt that fits any style.
The buttons are made from natural shells: the NAVY uses takase oysters with a beautiful sheen, while the BROWN uses buttons carved from the deep-colored brown-lipped oyster.
We sew with 24 stitches and 60 count thread.
While high-end dress shirts typically have about 18 stitches per 3cm, this one features 24 stitches for finer stitching.
It is difficult to tailor shirts on thin wool fabric, and the finer the stitching, the more delicate the technique required, limiting the number of sewing machines that can handle it.
To achieve these specifications, the shirts are sewn at one of Japan's top specialized shirt factories in Nagasaki, equipped with skilled artisans and specialized equipment.
