Founder Levi Strauss heard from people working in California's gold mines that "durable pants were needed," created durable work pants, and succeeded in evolving them into jeans.
Afterwards, it went beyond workwear and by the 1960s became widely accepted as fashion, especially among young people.
Today, they create a wide variety of items, including reissues of jeans from that era and denim made with new concepts.
