About the New Life Project
We question mass consumption, mass production, and mass waste, and we work with artisans to eliminate unreasonableness, inconsistency, and waste, passing on techniques and creating new value and environmentally friendly products. We collect our own unwanted products, turn them back into materials, and turn them into products. With a circular economy as our ultimate goal, we start with what we can do now.
OCEAN - A shape that can be created now, not in the future. Ocean Series
NLP's idea for a daily bag is a product that focuses on both design and materials. The main material is made from recycled PET, with 11% being plastic bottles collected through beach cleanup activities. The combination part is made from recycled nylon reclaimed from manufacturing waste collected from factories. The main body is treated to be waterproof, stain-resistant, and anti-static. Until now, most marine debris collected through beach cleanup activities has been incinerated or disposed of in landfills. As part of the circular economy, NLP would like to revive this waste by creating new products that minimize environmental impact.
ECO CANVAS SERIES
The main material is a fabric made with Cordura warp yarn and recycled PET polyester weft yarn, designed to meet the performance standards of the CORDURA® brand. The fabric surface is coated with a fluororesin for excellent water and stain resistance. The lining, tape, binder, and NLP label are made from 100% recycled PET. The zipper tape is made with YKK's "natulon" recycled polyester. While the percentage varies by product, 40% to 60% recycled materials are used. NLP has begun efforts to use FSC-certified materials for items such as hang tags, with the goal of eventually using all recycled materials.
