This is an original fabric using Japanese paper threads for the warp and hemp threads for the weft
。 Cloth made from washi paper is said to have already existed in the Nara period and was used for clothing as 'kamifu,' which involves tearing paper into thin strips and weaving them together.
Nowadays, techniques for processing it into threads have developed, and it has been passed down as lightweight and strong washi thread.
The filament yarn used is OJO from Oji Fiber, made by slit less than 1mm of Japanese paper made from Ecuadorian Manila hemp, and twisted into filament yarn.
Lightweight, less fuzzy, and excellent quick-drying and strength.
By combining the firmness of washi paper with the flexibility of hemp, it is finished with a unique texture that combines wrinkles and suppleness.
This shirt features an oversized silhouette with just the right amount of room, set to a slightly shorter length.
To preserve the natural wrinkles and texture of the fabric, stitching that appears only in areas where strength is required is minimized.
The ends of the cuffs are folded and sewn with reference to the way paper is folded, making it easy to find the position by hand when opening and closing the cuff buttons without seeing them visually.
The buttons use compressed cotton material, which is dyed together with the fabric during product dyeing.
