Riprap cotton twill button-down shirt. At Riprap, we offer a standard range of formal suits called "HAND-CRAFTED SUITs" that do not change in fabric or shape each season. This is a BD shirt from the HAND-CRAFTED SUIT line. This is Riprap's take on the traditional style of BD shirt, designed to be worn both as a dress and casual piece. The fabric used is twill, which is not normally used for dress shirts. This cotton twill is woven at an extremely high density, giving it a very fine weave, making it firm and wrinkle-resistant, so when paired with a suit, you can iron it for a crisp look, and for casual occasions, it also looks good straight out of the wash. The pattern is a boxy shape with a wide body. Tucking the shirt hem into the pants creates a relaxed, flowing look. The fit is classic and relaxed. The stitching is done with very fine stitches, 24 stitches per 3cm, making it beautiful to look at and durable. The lining of the sleeve rags is made with a kangaroo stitch. This is a technique I learned when I started production about 10 years ago, and it allows the cuff slits to fit in neatly. The width of the fold seam at the side, called the fold seam, is 2-3mm. The buttons are white mother-of-pearl buttons for white, Beige has natural color shell buttons, The olive and DK navy versions each use black mother-of-pearl buttons. I believe that basic items are the kind of clothing that can be worn across eras and trends, so I made my dress shirts sturdy. As history has shown, BD shirts with well-made details will look good even when the fabric becomes worn or frayed.
