Description
WORKERS, 2025 Tote Bag, Third Edition. Deluxe Tote. The size is width 34 / depth 16 / height 31. It is the so-called M size. The handle is short and can only be held by hand. I considered a long handle, but the handle is so narrow that it would be too cramped no matter how long it was. So, I only used the short handle I had. I considered adding an outer pocket, but the width between the handles was too narrow. Forcing one in here would make it less practical as a pocket, so I ultimately left it out. The handle matches the body color. The same fabric as the bottom is sewn on top of the tape. Here too, a two-needle sewing machine was used, folding the fabric on both sides so that it rests in the center of the tape. Equipment is everything! So, once again, I went to a factory in northern Kanto. Of course, it's made in Japan. No matter how many samples I show you, I still can't be satisfied unless I explain these things myself. For the sides, the edges of the fabric are folded and sewn in a staggered pattern. This forms the frame of the bag, allowing it to stand on its own even when empty. The body is made of No. 6 canvas. It weighs 18.9 ounces. The bottom and the part that rests on the tape are made of No. 11 canvas. It weighs 12 ounces. Is the body slightly lighter than the original? However, since the standards for Japanese JIS-standard canvas and the original duck canvas are different, creating a perfect match would likely require starting from scratch with the original thread. When I previously developed a D River-style oxford with a fabric store, I used a thread count that's not widely available in Japan. This is likely because American Tex is used, while Japanese Tex is used. Because the standards are different, thread counts that are standard in Japan aren't available in American Tex. Also, it seems that the standard Tex in America isn't available in Japan. Ultimately, the D River-style was made with an unusual thread count, known as "edge count," due to the fabric store's economies of scale. This tote bag wasn't intended to be an exact replica of the original, but rather, "I wanted to create something that approaches, and in some cases even surpasses, the original, using Japanese standards." I think the quality of the stitching completely surpasses the original. As expected from a Japanese sewing factory. The fabric has a beautiful weave. The tape is supple and easy to hold. However, the original is the original, and the roughness and toughness of the fabric and parts are a factor. The stitching is rough, with the attitude of "it doesn't break, it's fine." That's its own charm. The finish is different depending on the country. Please take a look at the difference.
