Riprap's classic wool long socks (high socks).
"Can long socks, which are worn with suits, also be worn in casual settings?"
With that in mind, I commissioned HALISON, a sock manufacturer in Hyogo Prefecture that has been producing long socks in Japan for over 50 years, to make them for me. The long socks, which were originally knitted in a high gauge like tights, were specially made in a medium-weight, mid-gauge knit.
We designed them so they can be worn with sneakers without looking out of place.
The material used is New Zealand merino wool, which feels wonderful against the skin.
It doesn't itch at all and doesn't feel stuffy from sweat. It also has odor-resistant properties and dries quickly. It's a material suitable for socks.
Lycra polyurethane is used for the backing thread to provide stretchability.
The fit is comfortable, staying in place without being too tight.
In cooler seasons, you won't have to worry about the cold air seeping in from your feet, and the moderate warmth is a major appeal.
In addition to classic colors like black, gray, and white, the collection also includes vibrant, pop seasonal colors that are unusual for traditional products.
*This product uses off-scale processed washable wool (shrink-resistant wool), so it can be washed in a household washing machine. Please refrain from using a dryer as it may cause some shrinkage.
