COOHEM, a coined word derived from the Japanese word "kouhen" (interwoven), was launched in AUTUMN & WINTER 2010 as the factory brand of Yonetomi Seni Co., Ltd., a long-established knitwear manufacturer in Yamagata Prefecture. "Interwoven" refers to the technique of knitting together multiple materials of different shapes to create an entirely new material. Using the unique textile called knit tweed that was born in this way, COOHEM expresses a completely new style of traditional wear. It combines programming, which requires advanced analysis, with the creative art of combining colors and materials. It is a new approach to manufacturing, where veterans with experience and skill, and young craftsmen with rich sensibilities and imagination, come together to create products that are both better, newer, more vibrant, and fancier in appearance and comfort.
