The back pocket of the USN Baker also has no flap, so although it looks similar, the specifications are slightly different. The denim material is 10 oz. The weft thread has a brownish tint, giving it a dark overall appearance. This is a specification seen in old military denim, and it is unclear whether the weft thread was intentionally colored, or whether the thread was made from colored cotton and the color just got stained. However, when you look at old military denim, it is certainly dark overall. The muted color means that even slight stains are not noticeable. "Brown Back Denim" was created to imitate this fabric. Back satin is a familiar fabric from Baker. I originally had someone at a fabric store make it for me about 15 years ago, using the original MIL-C-10296J specifications as a reference. The specifications included the weight of the fabric, the number of threads per inch, and the thread crossing method. I also used carded yarn, and at the time, I dyed the fabric with sulfide dyes. Initially, it was a sulfur dye that faded extremely quickly, but when that dye was discontinued, it was replaced by a sulfur dye that does not fade easily.Furthermore, sulfur dyes themselves are now almost completely obsolete, and now it has been replaced by sulfur dye. Sulfur dyeing is generally resistant to fading, but as the puckered areas rub against each other and the fabric wears down, the fabric becomes fuzzy and shading appears.The overall look does not turn out whitish, but rather creates a distinct shading effect. The Vintage Fit is the same as the original, with a 25cm hem. The fabric doesn't cling to your legs, so it's cool. The Slim Fit is exactly the same around the waist as the Vintage Fit.
