-story- Rain falls during the change of seasons. After several days of rain at the end of winter, it stops. With the scent of the earth, the Spring Market (Haru Ichiba) is opened by the "Kafusho" (Flower Wind Merchants), who have reached adulthood. Before becoming adults, they embarked on various journeys. They transport new springs and summers (flowers, seeds, seashells, etc.) acquired through their travels to towns welcoming spring and summer, carrying them on balloon carts. That is why they are called Kafusho. Among them are two brothers: "Kochi," the spring merchant, and "Hae," the summer merchant. This time, the story unfolds in a vibrant market. This fringed vest is for the traveling merchant brothers to read the wind direction. The sides of the vest feature macrame parts. It is made from Indian cord embroidered fabric, a handcrafted textile that cannot be replicated in Japan. This highly original unisex item features立体感のある cord embroidery on a 60/1 cotton lawn base, giving it a strong presence. The long fringes on both sides are a distinctive feature. While utilizing the beauty of old workwear seen in photographs from the late 19th to early 20th century, we incorporate wit and humor into the identity behind that beauty when designing. The materials are primarily natural, sometimes chosen for their historical context, and other times reproduced from antiques. As a concept, each season we draw inspiration from the lifestyles of various professions, incorporating the essence of their lives as a spice into our designs. - Designer- Kentaro Tamai Graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, Menswear Department. Returned to Japan after working as an assistant designer at Margaret Howell UK in London. April 2007: Established WrittenAfterwards Inc. September 2008: First participation in Tokyo Collection April 2009: Ceased activities with WrittenAfterwards and began independent design work.
