WORKERS Band Collar Shirt, Indigo Cotton Linen

The idea originated from "a shirt that can be worn as a light jacket" and "a shirt version of the Forestier." Forestier is known for its stand collar and protruding chin strap. However, if the collar was the same width as the jacket, it would be too wide and unbalanced, so I narrowed the width by referencing vintage band-collar shirts. Instead of the usual one chest pocket on a shirt, I added two. I also made them slightly larger and placed them on both sides of the waist. This makes it a little more like a jacket than a shirt. On the other hand, the hem and cuffs retain the shirt-like feel. I considered making the hem a right angle to make it more jacket-like, but this time I went with a rounded shape with a triple-fold stitch all around in one continuous line. The rounded shape gives it a classic feel. The cuffs have a normal opening plus a cuff. This makes it easy to roll up the sleeves. I was subtly particular about the parts. Brown mother-of-pearl buttons. Two holes, I wanted the buttons to match the natural feel of the fabric. I didn't want them to be pure white or black, so I made them in brown mother-of-pearl. The fabric is cotton linen. The warp threads are cotton, and the weft threads are top-dyed (dyed in its raw cotton) linen yarn. It has slubs, and you can see bits of white fiber that hasn't been fully dyed in indigo here and there. I used it because this texture is so similar to vintage linen...but it's expensive. It's so expensive that the fabric manufacturer couldn't produce it at their own risk, so it was a special order for WORKERS. The finished product is already washed.
