WORKERS Lot 806XH, T-Back, 14.7 oz, Indigo Raw Denim

This is the first type, this time in a so-called "T-back" style, one size only. It's raw denim, unshrunk/without anti-twist treatment, so the product will be shipped in an over-washed, shrunk state. To make a large-sized denim jacket with narrow selvedge denim, it has a split in the back. The indigo is WORKERS' standard "XH (Extra Heavy)" denim, with the warp and weft threads changed from 7 count to 6 count. The black is 7 count warp and weft. The yarn is "WKS-MEM7", made from 100% American cotton medium-staple cotton from EMOT (Eastern Memphis Orleans Texas) with WORKERS' original uneven shape. When creating the original denim, I wanted to know what kind of cotton was used in the old L size. So I asked a Japanese cotton import trading company to let me visit grain majors, farms, and cotton sorting facilities in Memphis. The most helpful person was a veteran employee of a grain major. "What kind of cotton did Cone Mills use to spin denim fabric in the past?" The answer is simply "a blend of American cotton." Back then, American cotton was cheaper to obtain than imported from overseas. Furthermore, the reason for using a "blended cotton" was for quality stability. Fiber length, cotton color, and the amount of cotton husk remaining. To ensure that these were as "the same every year" as possible, a blend was the most stable option. If a specific field or type of cotton was specified, it would be useless if a drought, flood, or pest infestation prevented a harvest. That's why it was "a blend of American EMOT cotton." So, WORKERS also used EMOT cotton, and the uneven texture of the yarn was imitated by taking apart old clothes. That's what WKS-MEM7 is. At the time, no yarn manufacturer was producing "American cotton EMOT 100 count 7 yarn" as an original product. Initially, when we heard that we could make enough yarn for over 1000 skeins of jeans all at once, we were half excited and half apprehensive about whether we could really make and sell that much.
