Super 120's Shadow Herringbone: How to reinterpret classic formal materials and recreate them with a modern look.
This fabric was born as one answer to that question. We took a moment to revisit herringbone, one of the representative classic materials, and took the time to consider it.
Herringbone is attractive for its elegant and beautiful woven pattern made from arrow feather weave, but using it as is made it look a bit too classic to me, which was a challenge.
To reinterpret it while preserving its merits, I came up with the approach of "erasing the boundaries of the arrow feathers."
Rather than simply weakening the pattern, we added flannel fabric to add a slightly brushed texture, obscuring the very outline of the arrow feathers.
The design allows the herringbone to appear as if in shadow, as the contours blend together.
Furthermore, marbling yarns of varying shades are used in pre-dyed variety, adding depth through color layers.
By creating a sense of depth from both the structure and color, we aimed for a herringbone expression unlike anything before.
Because it looks like a fading herringbone, this material is named "Shadow Herringbone."
The fleshy texture was designed with the intention of wearing it over long seasons. It has a moderate thickness while also offering the smoothness and beautiful drape unique to Super120's wool.
When tailored, it creates a very elegant drape. From a distance, it looks like a solid color, but depending on the angle and light, the pattern appears like a shadow.

In addition to the charcoal color lineup from last season, this time a new color—Shadow Herringbone—made up of navy × dark navy × black—has also been added.
By layering slight tonal differences within the same color family, the pattern appears with depth, resulting in a quieter and more modern impression.

Draping Bias Sleeve Blouson
This is a renewed draping blouson model featuring a biased sleeve design.
Building on the patterns we have maintained so far, this season we have reviewed the overall balance and significantly refined it.
While retaining its signature bias-oriented sleeve design, the amount of gathers on the back body has been adjusted to aim for a sharper, jacket-like beauty.
While keeping the softness from the amount of weight, I organized the outlines so they wouldn't become too blurry.
New seams have been added to the shoulders to make it easier to adjust the shoulder slope, improving the design to naturally suit more body types.
Thanks to structural adjustments, the fit when worn has been dramatically improved.
The front hem is designed to be lightly cinched with elastic, forming a cutaway front line.
This prevents the waist area from becoming bulky and creates a visual effect that makes the body appear sharper vertically.
The collar features intentionally seams at the curved part to add tension when standing up.
Although it's a soft blouson, it still retains a refined taste, almost like tailoring.
The front is made with a convex finish, and the front side is designed to minimize stitching.
While appearing flat, it features a tuck-like structural nuance inside, adding a quiet three-dimensional feel.
