Riprap POLO SHAPED SHIRT L/S (COTTON POPLIN STRIPE)

Riprap Polo Shaped Shirt (Cotton Poplin Stripe). This shirt was created by taking the exact shape of a polo shirt and applying it to a woven fabric shirt. Considering the recent climate in Japan, I thought, "Oh no. I can't wear polo shirts in midsummer anymore..." I've always loved wearing the heavyweight polos I've made so far, so I planned this item hoping to express that feeling with a shirt. To represent the straight-cut silhouette of a knit shirt, the pattern was designed to minimize the difference between shoulder width and body width. If you look closely, the collar is a slightly rounded collar. This was inspired by the knitted polo collar. The shallow front placket gives a different impression from a pullover shirt. This is also a dimension unique to polo shirts. The fabric used is soft-touch cotton poplin. A border pattern is created by reverse-cutting (cutting the fabric horizontally) a vertically striped shirting fabric. The color is navy/white. The sewing specifications include very fine stitching with 24 stitches per 3cm. The side seams are finished with a flat-felled seam, where the fabric edges are not visible, with a width of 2-3mm. The cuffs are finished with a run-and-fell seam. It incorporates many dress shirt specifications, such as using only floating interlining and no fusible interlining at all. This "dress shirt-tailored pseudo-polo shirt" can be worn under a jacket in early spring, or unbuttoned for a relaxed feel when it gets warmer. A polo shirt is indispensable for summer coordination.
