Description
Rust leaves traces of time.
"Rust dyeing" captures the process of iron decaying,
By stacking logwood,
This creates deep, rich colors and textures.
The colors collected from the forest overlap,
I'm etching "layers of time" onto the fabric.
The oversized silhouette with side slits,
Designed to work both on its own and layered.
No two things are exactly alike.
It was no coincidence,
The traces left by nature and time.
Not weathering away, but a form of regeneration.
Where is FAKE
An art gallery themed around "salvage & trans," reinterpreting overlooked elements and questioning the boundaries of value.
MISAKI USHIOZU
A dye artist based in Hokuto City, who uses natural materials and time to express the traces of life through dyeing.
1. CAPSULE COLLECTION
Circulating clothing. A re-editing of values. Dyeing through nature and time. Through the intersection of different domains, "clothing that embodies time and life" is born.
2. DYEING
Rust dyeing captures the essence of time. Hand-dyed by MISAKI USHIOZU, each piece develops a unique character in harmony with nature. Logwood is a natural dye also used in the Mayan civilization. Its deep color imprints a quiet depth onto the fabric. Forest materials and rust intertwine, creating more complex "layers of time." Each piece is unique, bearing its own distinct traces. *Color and pattern may vary from piece to piece. *Features the characteristic texture of rust dyeing.
3. SILHOUETTE
An oversized silhouette with side slits. It works well on its own, and its look can be further enhanced by layering. The ribbed fabric from the neck to the shoulders provides ease of movement and a comfortable, stress-free fit. The freedom to wear it however you like is the essence of this piece.
4. FABRIC
Made with domestically produced cotton based on long-staple cotton. Despite being a heavy-weight 10.7oz fabric, it has a texture that becomes more comfortable with each wear. A fabric that develops a unique character over time.
5. SERIAL NUMBER
Traceability tags visualize the history of each item. Each tag is accompanied by a serial number, proving that this one item is unique.
6. SEED CYCLE
From seeds to clothing, and back to the soil. SEED CYCLE is a project designed with the concept of circularity in mind. Without the idea of waste, everything is connected to the next stage. This garment, too, is part of that cycle.
Layers of time, drawn by logwood and rust.
Logwood and rust paint layers of time.
No two traces are exactly alike.
A one-of-a-kind photograph imbued with the memories of the forest.
- SEED CYCLE
*Please check before purchasing: Each item is unique; you cannot choose the pattern or color; there will be individual differences due to hand-dyeing.
