I imagined a scene where trees, glistening wet from the gentle, persistent rain of the rainy season, stand quietly. The subtle differences in the size of the small bumps on the center and sides of the body represent the gently falling raindrops of the rainy season, while the triangular pattern from the shoulders to the hem expresses the moist, shimmering appearance of the trees when wet. The base canoko knit has a distinctive bumpy texture, which minimizes contact with the skin, resulting in a smooth feel. Using a technique called plating knit, where different yarns are knitted on the front and back sides, we changed the yarn color on the front and back, and by knitting with two colors, we created a design with a sense of depth. The design pays homage to a traditional kimono pattern, which has become a staple at YASHIKI, creating a soft impression with dropped shoulders when worn. Side slits add a touch of lightness. The cuffs feature the brand's iconic [Yagasuri] pattern. The buttons are made from natural black-lipped mother-of-pearl. Each button has a unique appearance and a beautiful, elegant iridescent sheen. Patterns and details that evoke the culture of his hometown, such as the Tedori River and rural landscapes, are incorporated into the knitwear, expressing the scenes and local feel through rustic yet elegant craftsmanship.
