MITTAN Lightweight Sashiko Woven Jacket JK-86 Indigo * Turmeric * Ink

This original fabric has a double-layered structure, using organic cotton for the warp threads, ramie and hemp for the weft threads on the front and back surfaces respectively, and then joining them together with thick silk threads to create a sashiko pattern.
The outer surface has a light feel thanks to the blend of organic cotton and the sheen of ramie, while the inner surface, which touches the skin, offers the refreshing feel of hemp and the soft touch of cotton.
Sashiko originally comes from a Japanese handicraft where old cloths were layered and sewn together to reinforce or insulate fabric.
In this fabric, instead of trying to imitate the irregularity of hand-weaving with machines, we have utilized the regular structure that can only be created by machine weaving to design a unique pattern that evokes a sense of rhythm within order.
This jacket has a slightly relaxed silhouette, making it easy to layer with coats and other garments.
It features a planar pattern design, with most of the parts composed of straight lines.
By taking advantage of the fabric's characteristics, we've incorporated seams into the bodice, so that the direction of the sashiko pattern changes in each section.
Considering practicality as a tool, the pockets are positioned close to the side seams.
The piping tape on the back is made of organic cotton, and the buttons are made from carved white palm.

*Due to the nature of the fabric, the surface threads may snag. Please be careful when wearing the garment as it is prone to snagging due to friction with fingernails, bags, or accessories.
Because this product uses silk threads, please use a pressing cloth when ironing and avoid using high temperatures.
*Due to the washing process after sewing, each item may vary slightly in color, size, etc.
(White) *This item is dyed with a dark color. To avoid color transfer, please refrain from combining it with light-colored items.
To prevent color fading, use a detergent for dry-clean only and dry in the shade.
