Description

The browline style is one of the most iconic shapes associated with sunglasses.

Sunglasses have reigned as a timeless and classic item, both in Europe and America, and here in Japan.

This browline style has been redesigned with a redefined front tilt angle and finer sizing to provide an exquisite fit that doesn't touch the cheeks, even for Asians with flatter noses.

An Asian fit, yet a unisex silhouette that also fits Westerners.

A key feature is the rim, the part that covers the lens. It uses milgrain, a decorative technique that has been passed down in Europe for centuries, in which small round dots are repeatedly stamped onto the edges and lines of metal, such as in wedding rings, and classical, delicate engraved patterns that were frequently used in antique jewelry. You can enjoy the view from three different angles. The word "mil" comes from the Latin word for milgrain, meaning a thousand grains. A thousand is considered auspicious and symbolizes eternity and longevity. It is precisely because it is a timeless item that this part has such persuasive power.

The hinges connecting the frame and temples use five-barrel hinges, resulting in a robust construction.

Each component is fitted with screws according to its intended use, done by hand. This meticulous handiwork, characteristic of Sabae's craftsmanship, is a key feature.

The 2-curve lenses, a signature of the NOCHINO OPTICAL brand, are neither flat nor typical curved types, but possess a beautiful curved surface reminiscent of old hand-carved glass lenses, exuding a sense of luxury with their gleaming surface.

Additionally, the brand's iconic photochromic lenses, which change color under UV light, are available in three versions.

The biggest appeal lies in the two types: one that changes color from clear, and another unique lens version that changes from a light gray-green to gray with a subtle color tint.

#1 GLOSS BLACK & CHAMPAGNE GOLD × CLEAR to GRAY
Lens: 2-curve Body: Frame size 50mm, Bridge width 20mm, Temple length 147mm
#1 GLOSS BLACK & CHAMPAGNE GOLD × CLEAR to GRAY UV transmittance 5% or less

Because these items are handmade by craftsmen in Sabae, there may be slight variations between individual pieces.
Please be aware that due to the handmade nature of the product, there may be slight imperfections or distortions upon arrival.
If you notice any distortion or other issues, please take them to your nearest optician or consult with our Minami-Aoyama main store.

Photochromic lenses generally have a lifespan of about three years, although this can vary depending on usage frequency and environment.

Please be aware that the performance may deteriorate with frequent use under UV light, or use and storage in high-temperature environments (such as saunas, baths, or inside cars).

Generally, NOCHINO's photochromic lenses are ordered in batches exclusively for our own products each season, but there may be very slight differences in photochromic performance due to differences in seasonal batches.

* Due to the nature of the product, we do not accept returns or exchanges except in cases of product defects.
Please note that we cannot accept returns or cancellations after an order has been placed.

Not a full moon, but the one before a full moon.
The Japanese people consider the moon just before its fullness to be the ideal.
The beauty of incompleteness, the beauty of unfinishedness, the beauty of negative space.
It is through the 13th month, the subsequent lack of months, that we see the emergence of things that cannot be expressed in terms of completeness or satisfaction.
By considering how to make what is lacking beautiful,
It evokes a sense of satisfying beauty in people.
Like the thirteenth moon, or the later moon, eyeglasses are incomplete once they leave the craftsman's hands.
We offer our products as the 13th month.
In the Heian period, when The Tale of Genji was created, people were sensitive to the seasons and wore colors that were "appropriate for the season."
Incorporating it into daily life was a pastime of the nobility.
Enjoy the pleasure of wearing colors appropriate for the season in the modern age.
Each piece is completed when it is anastomosed with its unique owner, a testament to the craftsmanship of Fukui and Sabae.
