Description
Clear Heavy Broadcloth
At the core of my shirt-making is this heavy-broad material, which we continue to develop every season.
The material is a thick 35-count single yarn made from organic extra-long cotton.
Developed in collaboration with Kaneta Textile in Shizuoka Prefecture.
This yarn is completely original and features a count design that did not exist in the world.
Two years to establish the spinning system. Another two years from then to weaving it to the ideal density.
It was a development period that took a total of four years, something that would hardly be possible under a normal exhibition cycle.
Still, we were able to make it happen thanks to Kaneta Textiles' skills and passion, as well as my own determination to make this material the core of our brand.
This fabric wasn't made just for this season, but has been made for the past four years for "this very moment."
Kaneta Textile is a weaver that uses ultra-high-density looms, which are rare worldwide, allowing us to weave thick yarn to its limits.
For many years, I have placed complete trust in their technology and approach to craftsmanship.
This material was designed to simultaneously achieve the beautiful sheen of a dress shirt with the toughness that can be used in everyday life—elements that are originally contradictory.
The ideal was a shirt that could be worn casually without ironing and still retain a certain dignified elegance.
This shirt fabric has a solid core that can stand without over-polishing.
The fine-yarn shirt fabric made from high-quality raw cotton is certainly beautiful.
But once you wear them, they wrinkle deeply, and the burden of care gradually makes you hesitate to reach for them.
I've had that experience many times.
On the other hand, simply weaving with thick counts tends to be more casual and loses the tension of the dress.
That's why it was necessary to weave it with a density comparable to dress shirts, even though it was thick in the count.
It was a difficult challenge, but by facing it head-on, we completed a shirt fabric unlike any other.
Since it's 100% cotton, wrinkles naturally form.
However, the characteristic textured wrinkles characteristic of thick counts on this material are not a flaw but rather a form of expression.
Wrinkles that are rugged and supple that won't appear with fine counts.
I myself wear it without ironing.
I think that's a good material.
By wearing it for a long time, I hope you can naturally feel the strength and security of this fabric.
Oversized Shirt
The oversized shirts, which nonnotte continues to propose as a staple, will be updated and released this time, carefully reviewing the details.
While maintaining the flowing lines from shoulders to sleeves and the ample volume with ample room in the body width, the overall balance has been re-adjusted.
The fabric moves away from the body and absorbs air, allowing the texture and drape of the material to be beautifully revealed.
This time, we adopted an open color specification.
The neckline creates a relaxed impression, while the collar design balances it so it doesn't look sloppy.
It is designed so that the shape does not collapse whether worn open or closed.
The hem line has been changed to a more relaxed rounded shape than before.
It's easier to create movement than a straight cut, and it creates a natural flow when walking or catching the wind. When layered, the hem also adds depth to the appearance.
Even though it's oversized, it's not just about being large—we're conscious of patterns that fit three-dimensionally.
Instead of spreading sideways, the silhouette falls and gathers.
While it remains a classic, the design and details are gradually revised each season to get closer to the ideal form.
It is also a shirt update that nonnotte has been continuously working on.
Something you can pick up repeatedly in everyday life.
And yet, it must look truly beautiful when worn.
This piece aims to achieve both of these goals.
We hope you'll add it to your wardrobe and feel the evolution as you wear it.

I have experience working as a modelist at Yves Saint Laurent (Saint Laurent), handling designs and patterns for both men's and women's styles, A brand launched by Atsushi Sugihara, who has worked on designs for several major maisons and domestic meriyasu industries, starting with the 2023AW season.
Noknot is particular about everything from materials to patterns. Our concept is to create clothes that suit everyday life.
The origin is a coined word combining the French word "non" (negative), the English "not," and the French word "te," meaning "you."
With the meaning of 'denying what denies you,' the name was chosen to inspire inner strength through wearing clothes in an era where even dressing up is often denied.
The French-based design reflects his connection to France, where he gained experience, Using high-quality materials and delicate techniques, we propose items that pursue three-dimensional forms.
