Description
This is the 46G Artisan L/S Shirt from KANEMASA PHIL.
"artisan" items are crafted with meticulous attention to detail, from the materials and stitching to the dyeing process, just as the name suggests.
We create our own tenjiku fabric using a super high gauge of 46G.
This garment is made from 100% recycled 80/1 Suvin cotton. It has then undergone a salt-shrinking process. This material has a unique, distinctive textured feel, making it one of a kind. Finally, it is garment-dyed.
The fabric has been dyed using a special softening dyeing process to enhance its drape and sheer quality.
Each garment is air-dried individually to preserve the texture of the material. The raw edges of the hems, sleeves, and pockets, as well as the gathers on the yoke and cuffs, are all crafted in sewing factories within Japan.
This shirt features a boxy silhouette with ample width. The way it drapes when worn gives it a unique and distinctive look.
By minimizing the use of interlining, the silhouette is constructed solely through the texture of the fabric.
Brand Concept
KANEMASA PHIL. is an original brand of a circular knitwear manufacturer based in Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture, which originated from Kanemasa Knitwear Co., Ltd., founded in 1964.
To ensure the continuation of our unique knitting machines specializing in high gauge knitting, our jacquard machines capable of freely expressing a variety of patterns, and the distinctive skills and craftsmanship required to operate these machines with ease, our own brand KANEMASA was launched in the Spring/Summer 2021 season. *From the Autumn/Winter 2023 season, coinciding with our overseas launch, the brand name will be changed to "KANEMSA PHIL."
The brand's iconic logo was designed by Clement Johant, and the resulting design blends the historical context of the 1960s, when the company was founded, with European culture.
Based on the concept of "FUTURE CLASSIC / FUTURE VINTAGE," we create clothing for the future as we envision it today. We consider the future and offer a wardrobe that makes the wearer feel comfortable, happy, and joyful.
KANEMASA PHIL. products, which reflect the innovation, creativity, craftsmanship, and tradition we have cultivated and built up over the years, are made without compromise, from materials to design.
PHIL. is derived from the ancient Greek word φίλος (phílos, "beloved"), and is an abbreviation of derived words such as Philosophy ("philosophy," "love of wisdom and knowledge"), philharmony ("love of harmony"), and phile ("lover").
Based on the philosophy of "looking back at history and creating the future," we chose our brand name with the desire to share our products with the world.
