Description

We have received a new shipment of Open Collar Linen Cotton shirts from WORKERS.
The fabric used is a 6-ounce plain weave linen-cotton fabric, with linen warp threads and cotton weft threads.
The buttons are shell buttons. There is a chest pocket. It has a relaxed fit. For the past few years, I have been making Open Collar Shirts. Originally, the motif was Pilgrim or vintage short-sleeved shirts. The loop collar and small collar were key features. This year, although it is still an Open Collar, the motif has been changed to Mr RL, known for his "pony" logo. The top is not a loop collar but a collar that opens horizontally. The neck size has been adjusted so that you can button it all the way up and wear it with the collar neatly closed. When you close the collar...the black one looks like an 80s Homme shirt. The placket is folded over so that the stitching and seams are not visible. This was a common feature in the past, whether it was RL or Homme. I used to think that was "too ordinary," and in my younger days I would yell, "This is cooler!" when I saw the plackets with multiple stitches on work shirts or the Brooks Brothers BD shirts with their extremely fine stitching. But once that settled down, the shirts with no stitching on the plackets that I saw in the past now look fresh. How people change, left and right. But I think that "fluctuation" is what makes fashion so enjoyable. The materials are broadcloth and Madras, both around 3 ounces. They are among the thinnest fabrics for shirts. Even though they weigh about the same, broadcloth is densely woven with fine threads, while Madras is loosely woven with thicker threads. If you love clothes, you can probably imagine the feel just from this description. The linen-cotton is a little over 6 ounces. Until last year, I was using 100% linen, but this year the price has risen too much due to exchange rate fluctuations. That's when the fabric supplier came up with this fabric, saying, "We tried replacing the weft threads with cotton." It was done to cut costs, but as a result, it's a slightly sturdier fabric than 100% linen, which is good in its own way! Necessity is the mother of invention, I thought.

Authentic replica clothing born from an overwhelming passion for vintage wear.
WORKERS is a menswear manufacturer based in Okayama, focusing on workwear, traditional, and military styles.
Takashi Tateno, the representative who loves the unique atmosphere of vintage clothing, has researched actual vintage clothing.
We visit the manufacturers where the products were made and even the existing buildings to research their history and documents, using them as inspiration for our product development.
All products are made in Japan, and I understand the process myself.
Production is carried out only in factories equipped with specialized equipment for each stage of the process.
It's attracting a lot of attention not only from Japan, but also from globally recognized companies like J.CREW and INVENTORY.
