Summer Trousers from WORKERS, 20 Charcoal Linen Cotton. A classic pair of trousers.
A summer tradition: trousers made from lightweight fabric. This year, they're "Summer Trousers" without a buckle at the waist.
These trousers feature front pleats, a coin pocket, and welt pockets at the back, giving them a classic "trousers" design. They utilize interlock stitching on the sides and inside, and the welt pockets are of a normal width, not too narrow.
This area uses a sewing method that combines modern strength with consistent quality. The focus is on "recreating a vintage feel" and, more importantly, "how to achieve stable strength with this thin fabric."
"20" refers to the hem width. Not too slim, not too wide. The waist is relaxed with pleats, and it tapers naturally towards the hem.
The material is a linen-cotton blend weighing just over 6 ounces. Until last year, I used 100% linen, but this year the price has risen too much due to exchange rate fluctuations.
I was having trouble finding the right fabric when a fabric shop owner came up with this fabric for me, saying, "I tried replacing the weft threads with cotton." It was done to cut costs, but the result is a fabric that's a little sturdier than 100% linen, which is great! I was impressed by how necessity is the mother of invention.
Black chambray is the thinnest at 5 ounces. If you're looking for the coolest fabric possible, black chambray is the only choice. Indigo denim is the thickest at 7.5 ounces.
These light chinos are 6 oz. and can be worn as a set with the Summer Jacket.
As I write this on July 24, 2024, I myself am wearing the FWP Trousers (a waist buckle version of the Summer Trousers) that I made quite a while ago.
Wearing pants that are around 5-7 ounces in the summer will show you just how hot jeans and chinos are.
Save your jeans and chinos for the fall, and be sure to wear summer trousers in the middle of summer. They're incredibly comfortable.
