Description
I envisioned the abundant flow of pure snowmelt water from Mount Hakusan.
The pattern from the shoulders to the hem of the garment represents snow and ice, while the pattern on the sides of the garment depicts melting snow flowing away. The vertical lines in the center of the garment represent the flowing Tedori River. The fine, uneven texture of the moss stitch on the sleeves represents the rough, icy snow of the end of winter.
Using a technique called plating knitting, where different yarns are used for the front and back sides, and by changing the yarn color on the front and back, a two-color knitting technique was used to create a textured and layered look.
To create a soft, relaxed look with dropped shoulders when worn, YASHIKI has incorporated a classic kimono pattern as an homage to this design.
The cuffs feature the brand's iconic [Yagasuri] pattern.
The pique knit is characterized by its uneven surface, which reduces the contact area with the skin, resulting in a smooth and comfortable feel.
100% Cotton, Made in Japan
Size 2: Length (NP) 69cm, Shoulder width 67cm, Chest width 65cm, Sleeve length 51.5cm
YASHIKI is a Japanese knitwear brand.
Started in 2014.
We offer Japanese-made knitwear produced in the Ryomo region of northern Kanto, an area with a long history of thriving textile industries.
The landscapes and culture of Ishikawa Prefecture, the designer's hometown, played a significant role in the design.
The brand incorporates patterns and details that evoke the culture of their hometown, such as the Tedorigawa River and rural landscapes, into knitwear, expressing the scenes and local feel through simple yet elegant craftsmanship.
