Description
A classic Modified Fit shirt. The BD is inspired by vintage Brks.
The tie fits neatly on the collar. But not too high. Not too low. The feather collar is neither too long nor too short. "The Doctrine of the Mean"
No hanger loops, no shoulder yoke stitching. The silhouette and body fit well, but not snug.
The shoulder width is neither too much or too tight. The master size is about 75 cm, which can be worn either with the hem exposed or tucked in. The sleeve collar itself has some room and no tightness.
In this way, measurements are determined based on functionality and the pattern is created. It's not a design shirt, but a design shirt.
The material is the classic Supima Ox series.
Denim is 7.5 ounces, and I wanted a shirt for 'midwinter,' so I thought it was a bit thicker. The thinner the denim, the less 'denim feel' we feel.
3-5 ounce denim feels like a "soft chambray."
That's because chambray is plain weave, and denim is twill weave.
Plain weave feels stiffer because there are more thread crossings, while denim uses 2×1 or 3×1 twill, with fewer crossing points than 1×1 plain weave, so it feels supple.
The fabric maintains its shape without falling apart due to the friction force of the crossing threads.
This means that even with the same thickness of yarn and the same number of threads inserted, the texture will differ depending on the weaving method (the number of threads crossed).
7.5 ounces 100% cotton indigo denim (quite thick for a shirt)
