For long-time customers of WORKERS, the tool bag, a nostalgic item, is finally back. Main body: No. 4 canvas/approx. 23.5 oz. Bottom: No. 6 canvas/approx. 19 oz. Dimensions: Approximately 31 cm wide at the bottom, 30 cm high, 18 cm deep. The width tapers towards the top, so the opening is a maximum of about 40 cm. Handle length: Short 25 cm, Long 60 cm (length for shoulder carry). There is an external pocket on one side. At first glance, it looks the same as the one made before, but... the fabric, factory, sewing thread, label, and tape are all different. The main fabric is No. 4 canvas. We intentionally chose fabric without selvage. This is because, previously, we were too particular about selvage, which led to a situation where "only this weaving factory could make it." In fact, the factory we initially commissioned has already gone out of business. This time, the premise was that "the fabric can be stably sourced without selvage." Based on that, we aimed for something superior to selvage. The problem then was the side seams. If we don't use selvage, we can only "fold" or "overlock and sew." Folding and sewing is naturally neater, but the sewing difficulty is incomparably higher. So, after a long search, I found a factory in the town next to my father's hometown. The president of that company is a big fan of sewing machines and trumpet machines, and we hit it off. Because of that, I can rely on them with confidence (even though the labor cost is quite high). The folded part of the side acts as a bone, allowing the bag to stand on its own even when empty. After all, a tote bag is easier to use when it can stand on its own. The bottom part is No. 6 canvas. The connection in the middle adds a design accent. Originally, it was made with narrow fabric, and we intentionally kept the design element of using selvage for the triangular part (though we were told it's hard and expensive!). The sewing thread is a thick polyester yarn. It is surface-coated to prevent untwisting. The label also looks the same as before at first glance. However, in the past, we printed on sheeting, but this time we printed on coated fabric. The pattern comes out much sharper. For the tape, after much searching, we found a manufacturer. When we went to talk to them, they told us about "cotton spun power loom tape," which is extremely hard and thick. For this same width of tape, there are power looms and other looms, and the power loom tape is particularly thick. However, productivity is poor, and if there is no stock, there is a very long wait. But even with the wait, this tape is worth it. WORKERS has also ordered a larger stock (black dye is also currently being produced). By meeting a new factory, it's different from before.
