Description
This is the first type, a so-called "T-back" design, available in one size. It is unlined, unshrunk, and untwisted, so the product will be shipped in a shrunk state. This large-sized denim jacket is made from narrow selvedge denim, so it has a split in the back. Black is number 7 vertically and horizontally. "WKS-MEM7" is a yarn made from 100% American medium-length cotton from EMOT (Eastern Memphis, Orleans, Texas) in a WORKERS original uneven pattern. The black warp thread is dyed all the way to the core, resulting in an overall grayish color fade. When making original denim, I wanted to know what kind of cotton L used in the past. So, I asked a Japanese cotton import trading company for help and we toured Memphis' major grain companies, farmland, and cotton sorting facilities. The person who was most helpful was a veteran employee of a major grain company. "What kind of cotton was used to spin denim fabrics like Cone Mills in the past?" The answer is simple: "American cotton blend." In the past, American cotton was available at a lower price than importing it from overseas. Furthermore, the reason it is "blended cotton" is to ensure stable quality. Fiber length, cotton color, amount of cotton husk remaining... If you want to get the same thing every year, blended cotton is more stable. If you specify a specific field or type of cotton, you're out of luck if drought, flood, or pests prevent you from harvesting. That's why it was called "EMOT cotton blend from the US." So, WORKERS also used EMOT cotton and copied the unevenness of the threads by taking apart old clothes. That was the WKS-MEM7. At the time, yarn makers had not yet produced the original "American cotton EMOT100 No. 7 thread." At first, I was half excited to see that we could produce the equivalent of more than 1,000 strands of thread for a pair of jeans all at once, and half worried about whether we could really produce and sell that much. Thanks to you, WORKERS denim has been able to continue being produced as people appreciate its unique softness and ease of wear. I'm really grateful that they made it and bought it.
