Riprap POLO SHAPED SH L/S (COTTON POPLIN STRIPE)

Riprap polo-shaped shirt (cotton poplin stripe).
This shirt was created by directly translating the shape of a polo shirt into a woven fabric shirt. This was done with the current climate in Japan in mind, thinking, "Oh no. It's getting to the point where I can't wear a polo shirt in the middle of summer anymore..."
I've always loved and worn the heavyweight polos I've made so far, so I designed this shirt hoping to express that feeling.

To achieve the straight, boxy silhouette of a cut-and-sew garment, the pattern was designed to minimize the difference between shoulder width and body width.
Upon closer inspection, the collar is slightly rounded. This was inspired by the collar of a knitted polo shirt. The shallow front slit gives it a different impression than a pullover shirt. This is also a dimension unique to polo shirts.
The fabric used is soft and comfortable cotton poplin.
A border pattern created by using vertically striped shirt fabric in a reverse direction (cutting with the fabric grain running horizontally). Available in navy/white.
The sewing specifications include extremely fine stitching with 24 stitches per 3cm. The sides are finished with a 2-3mm wide flat-felled seam, a technique where the fabric edge is not visible. The cuffs are finished in the inside-out style. It is constructed using only floating interlining without any fusible interfacing, etc., incorporating many of the specifications of a dress shirt.
This "dress shirt-style pseudo-polo shirt" can be worn under a jacket in early spring, or with all the buttons undone for a more relaxed look when it gets warmer.
A polo shirt is an essential item for summer outfits. Enjoy the breathability that you can't get with knitted fabrics.
