The deck shoes under the "Asahi" brand use a traditional manufacturing method called the Vulcanization method.
Its features include increased strength and elasticity of the rubber soles, which is labor-intensive, resulting in superior durability. This method is also attractive because it resists losing shape and maintains a beautiful silhouette.
Currently, only a handful of companies, including Asahi, can implement this manufacturing method in Japan. Each pair is carefully produced using rare techniques.

Asahi
Founded in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture in 1892, this shoe manufacturer has supported Japanese footwear culture for over 120 years.
With its own factory in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, it has long thrived in rubber manufacturing, and has engaged in integrated production from rubber, which led to the current shoe manufacturing.
We continue to make shoes by applying the techniques cultivated over more than 120 years of history. We make use of the production methods, techniques, and manufacturing methods of the time, and by incorporating the last and traditional techniques of the 1970s, we offer shoes suitable for both men and women, such as deck shoes and slip-ons.
