Of course, they are part of the P-47's character, but if they were thread-attached buttons and were flatter, they would get caught less and I felt like it would be more of a "normal, easy-to-wear jacket." So this time I used flat four-hole buttons. The shape is the same as the P-47 I made last time, with 3 patches and an inside pocket. The cuffs are different from the original vintage ones, with cuffs and an open design. In the summer, you may want to roll up the sleeves a little. The material is a little over 6 ounces of linen cotton. I used 100% linen until last year, but this year, the price of 100% linen has gone up too much due to the exchange rate. When I was in a pinch, the fabric store said, "I tried changing the weft thread to cotton," and created this fabric for me. This was done to keep costs down, but the result is a fabric that is a little sturdier than 100% linen, which is fine! I'm impressed that necessity is the mother of invention. Indigo denim is the thickest at 7.5 oz. Black chambray is the thinnest at 5 oz. Light chino is in between at 6 oz.
