Description

In the late 1960s, 100% cotton fleece material was deemed dangerous under US fire safety regulations, and polyester, acrylic, and rayon began to be included. This product is a half-zip hooded sweatshirt from a series that reproduces the acrylic blend "REVERSE WEAVE" that was used in the late 1970s. It is made of 90% cotton and 10% acrylic, faithfully recreating the original blend. It is knitted on an old-fashioned sinker knitting machine, giving it a unique volume and texture. The "USAFA" print on the chest is based on the United States Air Force Academy, and is the exact design of products that Champion supplied to the school in the 1970s. The zipper is made by TALON, an American company that invented the world's first zipper in 1893. The slider is a cam lock type that was used before the advent of mechanical locks, and is secured by pressing it down with your hand. This is not a reproduction, but rather uses a valuable original stock from the 1960s onwards. The name tag is a 1970s model "blue single tag" (blue single color tag). The absence of the C logo patch on the left sleeve is also a feature consistent with the original design. The United States Air Force Academy is a four-year school that develops the skills, leadership, and knowledge that officer candidates need to serve as regular officers.
