Since 1982, Gramicci has continued to create functional clothing for living in the great outdoors.
They are designed to be active and loved by a wide range of users.
What began in a garage in Ventura, California, has spread beyond the streets of Tokyo and beyond.
In the 1970s, California began with a new generation of free-spirited rock climbers called Stonemasters settled in Yosemite National Park, pioneering a new climbing method focused on speed and style.
This new style required new uniforms; painter pants and vintage army clothes worked reasonably well, but they required even more flexibility.
Mike Graham, a stonemaster with a keen eye for design, focused on their flexibility and began developing true climbing shorts for the first time.
Today, Gramici is also popular on Tokyo's streets, and now that it's time for Gramici to find a new home, Japan has been the perfect place for them.
Since then, Gramici has continued to pursue innovation and new ideas while maintaining its unique philosophy.
It's been nearly 40 years since the first Gramici shorts were sewn together in Mike Graham's garage, and that philosophy remains unchanged.
