Description
It's no exaggeration to say that the development of canvas sneakers has been intertwined with the sport of basketball. In the 1950s and 60s, American professional players all wore canvas sneakers, and the functional designs we see today were pursued. DOEK BASKET adopts the design of an open-laced basketball shoe. It eliminates any particular statement and focuses solely on the materials and how to make the most of them. The canvas upper is an original, coarse-weave fabric equivalent to 10oz, woven on an old-fashioned power loom. The INDIGO version, dyed with indigo from the yarn stage, develops a unique texture the more you wear it. The footbed uses cork, a material with natural breathability, and the outsole features a design unique to basketball shoes to prevent slipping. The vulcanized manufacturing process, done with meticulous handiwork, produces a product that is beautiful, comfortable, and durable—more than sufficient for today's lifestyle.
DOEK SHOE INDUSTRIES
DOEK is an original brand of GOOD WEAVER. "Doek" is a Dutch word that is the origin of the Japanese word "zukku," which originally means "textile." DOEK's mission is "to make sneakers with high-quality textiles." From the expressive canvas produced on old-fashioned power looms to modern fabrics created with new technologies, they create products that highlight the quality of the materials.
The fabric is made from indigo-dyed threads woven onto an original canvas using a traditional power loom. Indigo dyeing, which uses Polygonum cuspidatum as a dye, is said to have effects such as deodorizing, antibacterial, UV protection, and insect repellent properties, making it a craftwork filled with the wisdom of our ancestors.
Care Instructions: When washing, remove the shoelaces. Add powder detergent (neutral detergent) to lukewarm water and wash by pressing the shoes in the water. Dirt on the rubber part of the sole can be effectively removed by scrubbing with a melamine sponge. Next, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water until all the foam is gone, then stuff towels inside the sneakers to prevent them from losing their shape, and spin-dry them in the washing machine for 10-30 seconds. After that, it is recommended to air dry them in a well-ventilated place as soon as possible, either in the sun or in the shade. Some color fading will occur, but once it has faded to a certain extent, the color will settle and stabilize.
