While retaining the front pleats that are a major feature of the Type 1, this jacket, commonly known as the "Type 2," has been elevated from its image as workwear to western wear and a fashionable item by changing details such as the pockets and the silhouette. Produced in the 1950s, it became even more popular as a fashion item when worn by actors and musicians active at the time. The belt on the back has also been removed and an adjuster has been added to the hem belt. The front pleats, a remnant of the TYPE 1, remain, but there are now two front pockets. Orslow's 50's denim jackets are made using original selvedge denim, which has been carefully selected from the yarn stage. The 13.5 oz selvedge denim fabric is an original Orslow denim that was created by actually disassembling vintage denim and studying and examining in detail using microscopes and magnifying glasses the number of stitches and the shape of unevenness that are not visible at first glance. The material is woven with yarn that has a natural unevenness similar to that of 1950s denim, and with repeated wearing and washing it will change over time, becoming a piece that you will grow to love. The biggest difference from the first model, which retains the front pleat design, is the two flap pockets on the front. The back yoke also features pleats on both sides for a more three-dimensional look, and the cinch back, which was previously located on the back, has been replaced with button-type adjustable belts on both sides.
