WORKERS Pullover BD, 7.5 oz Denim, OW

I wear button-down shirts for half the year, or rather, about 80% of the time in winter. In spring and summer, if it's hot, I often leave the front of my shirt open and wear it as a jacket. But in winter, I always keep it closed. I often wear a sweater over it too. So, wouldn't a pullover be more suitable for winter? Since there's no front closure, my stomach wouldn't get cold (I'm in my late 40s and I'm always worried about things like that). So, I made pullover button-down shirts in various fabrics. The base is a modified button-down shirt, but since the front of a pullover doesn't move at all, it would be too tight as is. I've adjusted the pattern to make the waist area less constricting and create a more relaxed silhouette around the torso. The finished product will be delivered in NW (New Winter), unwashed. The samples were sun-dried in OW (Open Water) before measurements were taken. None of the fabrics shrink significantly. The denim is 7.5 oz; I wanted a shirt for "mid-winter," so I chose a slightly thicker one. The thinner the denim, the less "denim feel" we perceive. 3-5 oz denim feels like "soft chambray." This is because chambray is plain weave, while denim is twill weave. Plain weave feels stiffer because there are more intersections of threads, while denim, which is 2x1 or 3x1 twill, feels more supple because there are fewer intersections than in 1x1 plain weave. Fabrics maintain their shape and do not fall apart due to the friction of the intersecting threads. This means that even with the same thickness of yarn and the same number of threads per inch, the feel of the fabric will differ depending on the weaving method (the difference in the number of thread intersections).
